Returning to Broadway for the first time in over 20 years, Falsettos is set in the New York of 1979, and tells the story of Marvin, a city man who is married-with-child, who suddenly finds himself in love with another man. He follows his heart, and tries to set-up a stable family household for his son, Jason. Things do not go as planned. Whizzer, his boyfriend does not fit neatly into Marvin's idea of a homemaker, while Jason has difficulty adjusting to the notion of two dads. If that weren't the only problem, his psychiatrist Mendel, makes matters worse by falling for his ex-wife Trina!
First performed in 1992, Falsettos offers a subversive take on the then all-to-recent AIDS crisis and won Tonys for Best Book of a Musical and Best Score.
